SATURDAY NIGHT:
4pm: Jake and Casey spend the evening playing with their friend Alison at Kindercare for "Parents Night Out", while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a date night with Ali's parents Brian and Kristin. Kindercare was using the money they earned from Parents Night Out and putting it towards March of Dimes charity. While the kids played games, painted pictures, and watched a movie, we enjoyed food, drinks, shuffleboard and midway games at Dave and Busters.
9pm: We picked up the kids from Kindercare and drove over to the Bambergs house (they live across the street from us) to play dominos. Jake and Casey are comfortable at their house and sleep in their guest bedroom while we enjoy more adult time together.
SUNDAY MORNING:
12am: Kristin won the dominos game. We carry two sleeping little lambs back home to their own beds.
12:15-12:30: Daddy goes to bed, mommy plays Easter bunny and sets up the easter basket treasure hunt and bunny footprints for sunday morning fun.
12:45: Casey wakes up with a wet pullup and needs to be changed. Mommy changes her and put her back to bed.
3:45: Jake wakes up (I cannot remember why), mommy puts him back to bed.
6:45: Mommy gets up and heads outside to carefully place 100 easter eggs in the front and backyard.
7:10: Mommy goes back to bed.
7:35: Jake wakes up first and runs to our room and tells us to come see the bunny footprints leading downstairs. Wanting to go downstairs together, we hold off his excitement and keep him entertained while we wait for Casey to wakeup.
8:00: Jake can wait no longer, so we wake up Casey. He tells her that the Easter Bunny was here and left his footprints in the hallway and that there are lots of easter eggs outside.
8:10: Both kids tiptoe downstairs following the bunny prints leading towards their easter cards and gifts. They open the presents sent to them from their grandparents. On the table is a special egg filled with a note from the easter bunny telling them he hid each of their easter baskets and to follow the clues to find it. Casey goes first and after following her six clues it leads her to a basket hidden inside her kitchen set. Jake sprints through his six clues and finds his basket hidden under his train table. Inside their baskets was a kite, an etch-a-sketch, an ocean creature bath toy and books.

8:45: After exploring with their new gifts, we bundle up the kids in jackets and go outside for the egg hunt. Because they had just practiced this the weekend before at the Egg Scramble at the park (see post below) they knew exactly what to do. They ran around the front and back yards scooping up as many eggs as possible. Eventually their baskets were filled and we needed to dump eggs into a second bag to make room for more eggs in their baskets.

9:00: Both kids sit down with their eggs and begin to break them open to reveal treasures like marshmallows, candy eggs, gummie worms, starburts and jelly beans.
9:35: We sit down for a easter morning breakfast of french toast, bacon and a fruit plate.
10:00: We all get bathed, showered and dressed up for church.
Right now the kids are taking a much needed nap (mommy was tempted to nap as well but found a second wind and decided to write this blog post instead). To finish off our Easter holiday, this afternoon we are going to drop off Easter treat bags to our friends the Kozlowski's and Groszkiewicz's. This evening I am cooking up a nice dinner of ham with peaches, asparagus, and scalloped potatoes.
Happy Easter to all of you.

WOW wonder mom...you deserve a nap too!! Did I read that right? 100 eggs??? Holy egg-o-rama batman, that is a lot! You must have had just as much fun as your little ones did after all that work. I'm calling Oprah to nominate you for Mom of the year! What a great family picture. I wanted to cook a ham to, but Bruce wanted Fried Chicken!!! Well, since he volunteered to cook it, how could I say no? Miss you guys - maybe we will come to your house for Easter next year - looks like the place to be!~~
