Last week we woke up to 6 inches of good packing snow. Chris and I were outside at 5:15am shoveling it away from our driveway and sidewalk. Shoveling is a good full body workout. But I was getting weak by the end of it. The cool fresh air woke me right up. While shoveling we tried throwing the snow to one side of the driveway to build a large mound for the kids to play on. Later that morning I turned this mound into two snow forts the kids. They each had their own crawl space with an entrance. Jake even built in his own doorbell (you cannot see it, but it was there). I was required to ring the doorbell when I wanted to come into his fort. We spent the next 90 minutes decorating it with snow castles (we used our sand pails and they worked wonderfully). Take a look at our creation.
