Yesterday when Chris returned home from church he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was shocked, surprised and delighted to received them. At first I couldn't think of what I did to deserve these but quickly he said: "Happy Twooth". Some of you know what this means but for those of you who don't it's a our special anniversary that we celebrate every 2nd of each month. It's not our wedding anniversary but it's the date that Chris and I declared ourselves a couple (a long, long time ago back in high school). Fifteen years ago, on March 2 (I believe it was a Tuesday) Chris and I were on the phone talking (only 2 weeks after first meeting each other on a blind date), he said: "Do you want to be boyfriend and girlfriend?" and I said "Sure" or was it "Yes". He was 16 and I was 15 years old. Oh my gosh, we were babies!!!!

Since that night we have tried to celebrate our special day called the "Twooth" (pronounced "tooth) each and every month for 15 years now. Sometimes it's just a nice good morning kiss with a "Happy Twooth" to each other, sometimes it's a Date Night (with each other of course!), sometimes it's a nice card, sometimes it's flowers, and when we lived miles apart while in college it was a long phone conversation with each other remember moments we've had together. I don't think either of us has ever missed the the date so far and hopefully we never will. We even had a competition going for a few years to see who can say "Happy Twooth" to each other first. Chris won most of those times because he wakes up before I do and comes to my bedside and gives me a kiss before he leaves for work and whispers those special words. But occasionally on a late Friday or Saturday night when we are up after midnight (my brain functions better at night) I'm able to blurt out "Happy Twooth" before he can. On somedays it would take both of us all the way until the afternoon or dinner time to realize what day it was and recognize it.

The flowers Chris brought home yesterday were Siberian Lilys and some extra pretty purple flowers (chris forgot the name of them). They look gorgeous on our table and and make our snowed in Michigan home feel like it's Spring already. I have a great husband who gives me the goosebumps every now and then with a surprise like yesterday. I do have to admit that I failed miserably and did not remember it was the BIG 15 YEAR CELEBRATION. I felt very guilty. So I'm thinking that I can plan a special thing for him anytime during this month and it will still count. What do you think?
