We are back. We got home around 2pm yesterday. The trip was amazing. Everyone told me before we left that we would love Clearwater. They were right. It's gorgeous. I thought it would be similar to Ft. Myers Beach (about 3-4 hours south on the same coast side) where I have vacationed many times, but it's better that Ft. Myers. The sand is perfect (white and soft) the water is clear like I what I see of photos of the virgin islands. The weather was beautiful for 3 of the 4 days we were there. Sat, Sun and Monday was in the 80s and sunny. Tuesday was cloudy and really really windy so it felt like 60s (we had to pull out sweatshirts that day). We packed in a lot of stuff all 4 days but it didn't feel rushed. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves and the area. I want to write a post tonight and tell you all the details and photos (I need to get them in my computer still).
Yesterday afternoon was dedicated to unpacking. Suitcases are unpacked, one more load of laundry to clean and put away.. Speaking of laundry we had a washer incident yesterday. Shortly after getting home I start our first load and 5 mins into the run the washer shuts itself off. Crazy. So I try to reset the buttons and try again. No power, nothing works. I check the circuit breaker and reset it. This jolts the washer and it shuts down again. I call out "Ummmmm honey.....the washer isn't working!". Chris takes a look into it and one hour later after trying to fix it himself and referring to the manual he calls Lowes (we have a service plan for the washer/dryer with them). Lowes asks them if we recently had a power outage. Actually yes, 1 day before we left for the trip our power was out for 2 minutes. The guys said we need to reset the washer. All we need to do is UNPLUG the washer, wait 5 mins and plug it back in. FIXED!!! That did it. I'm thrilled that is all it took and we didn't to wait a day or two for a repair guy to come out. Resume washing laundry.
This morning the kids and I were up early and out the house at 8am to setup for my second to last MOPS meeting. It was tough, both kids wanted to sleep in. I woke them up at 7:20 and they were exhausted and wanted to stay in bed. I felt bad. I have them both down for a nap now and hopefully they will snooze for at least 2 hours. I may try to lay down too and catch up on some sleep. Even though we were on vacation and it should be relaxing, we didn't sleep much, there was too much fun to be had.
Check in later for a longer post on the vacation.
