This is one of my all time favorite places to visit. I would take it over any other theme park. I love being able to see all the ocean creatures. Growing up as a child I was in LOVE with dolphins and whales. I wanted to know all about them, collected them and of course enjoyed seeing them at Sea World. When I was younger my sisters and I would fly to California for 2 weeks during our summer vacation to stay with our grandparents. During our visit with them they would take us to the beach, Disneyland, local parks, baseball games, small downtown villages and of course a trip to Sea World.
Everything about Sea World makes me feel good. And I'll admit this, I actually cry during the Dolphin and Shamu shows when the first whale or dolphin make a big jump out of the water. A wonderful feeling takes over my body. I'm amazed with how the trainers interact with the mammals and thye do a performance together. At Sea World you also get a chance to go under the water and view the dolphins and whales from underneath their tank. This is amazing because you can get up next to the glass and almost feel like you are swimming with them.
Going to Sea World on my birthday this year was a special treat. I loved being able to share my day with my family and seeing their eyes open wide at all the amazing things. Jake was very intrigued with everything there. He wanted to know all about all the animals we saw: Dolphins, Whales (orcas, belugas, false killers), Penguins, Sharks, Seals, Manatees, Sting Rays etc... He wanted to know what they ate and where they live. We bought a Sea World program book and it goes into detail about all the animals and he looked through this book the whole day and many many days after our vacation. It sits on his bookshelf now and we pull it out at night to look at what we saw and read about them. Casey didn't ask as many questions but I know she was absorbing all that she could see. Her favorite part of the day was the Shark Encounter. We went underground and walked through a water tunnel. She would look up in silence watching all the swimming sharks and other fish in the tank.
We arrived at Sea World at 9:30 am (it was a 2 hr drive from Clearwater to Orlando). We got to see many of the attractions but there are some we didn't have time for. You need at least 2 days to be able to see everything Sea World without feeling rushed and running from locations. Next time we are in Orlando we'll plan a 2 day visit (they offer the second day free if you go back within 7 days of using your full paid tickets, BONUS!!!!). Our day ended at 7pm. I wanted to stay another 2 hrs but they were kicking all of us out. The kids snoozed all the way back to Clearwater that night with small whale and dolphin figurines clenched in each hand. I knew they enjoyed their trip to Sea World.
