TaDa!

We have a new dining table and LOVE IT!!

Our old set was ancient. We bought it when Chris and I leased our first apartment together in Madison (Oct. 1997). That was over 10 years ago (Yikes!). The old set worked well in our Madison apartment, our Rochester Hills apartment and and first home in Sterling Heights, but when we moved into this house last summer it became very small for the large space we have for it. We also enjoy entertaining. Having family and friends with us to eat, drink,and play games is comforting.



Another big reason is so that Chris and I can finally enjoy a meal without getting poked, kicked, food touched and our drinks sipped on from our two little tykes (you know who they are). We snuggly fit into the old table and it was too close most of the time. The new one seats six normally and when we entertain we can bring in two extra chairs we purchased to seat eight. If we wanted Chris and I could sit at the ends and put Jake and Casey across from each other in the middle. We would need to use binoculars and walkie-talkies to communicate with each other. No it's not that bad, but it will be nice to spread out.

With Chris providing our sole income our budget didn't allow us to purchase a dining set anytime soon (we've been trying to save up). I wasn't sure when I'd ever get it. Chris has been working extra overtime hours the past couple months and he also had a great progress report at Ford and received a bonus this year (cha-ching!). Thanks sweetz. He's awesome at his job and the end result is a beautiful table we'll enjoy for a long while.

So come on over to our house and enjoy it with us.
