Mama Robin and her babies

We have two robin nests on our property this year. One is high up on a branch in our Sycamore tree, but the other one is on our front porch. When we walk out our front door and look immediately to our right, there is a rain gutter on the side of the house, our Robin friend found this spot as a perfect place to have her babies. Over the last 6 weeks we have watched her make a nest, lay eggs, the eggs hatched and two babies birds are in the nest. During they day we've seen the Mama go out looking for food (worms) and bringing them back to her young. I was able to capture a video of the babies. While I was taking the video the Mama Robin was on her way up to the nest from the grass to feed her babies a worm. When I clicked my record button it made a beep sound and the Mama was scared and flew back to the ground. But the babies thought she was coming so they had their heads popped up ready to receive their breakfast. We rarely get to see this much of them, and I was lucky to get it on the video.
Casey has a taken a strong liking to the Mama Robin. The other night while pulling weeds (see post below) she had disappeared for a short while. Later she tells us she touched the robin nest. At first I was shocked and couldn't believe it, because the nest is out of her reach. But then I was curious and asked her how she did this. She showed me how she climbed up on her small picnic table on the front porch, then up onto the porch rail, then stood up holding on to the brick of the house and reached towards the nest. I was terrified. I very calmly explained to her why that was a dangerous thing to do. I also explained that the Mama Robin doesn't want anyone to come near her babies so we should keep our feet on the ground and use our eyes to watch them. Each day as we head outside Casey says "hello" or "good morning" to Mama Robin and the babies.
