This past weekend we celebrated Casey's 2nd birthday AGAIN, with all of her friends from the neighborhood. Jacob, Josh, Jack & Jayden (4 brothers), Samantha & Spencer (sister and brother), Austin & Emily (brother and sister). The kids enjoyed riding bikes, drawing with chalk and playing together during the first 1/2 of the party. Next we enjoyed a FIESTA lunch of quesadillas, taco dip, nacho cheese dip, veggie tray, and fruit salad. Ymmmmmm....... I found this awesome place that makes quesadillas, paninis, pitas and salads! They were delicious and Chris and I enjoyed leftovers from the party for 2 days.
After our tummies were filled and the kids were full of energy we started the DORA SCAVENGER HUNT. I created a fun game for the kids to follow maps to 5 locations where they had to complete an activity to receive a special character necklace. I broke the kids into 3 teams. The older boys Jacob, Austin and Josh helped the younger kids 3 and under. They were very patient with them helping them complete the activities and reading the map. Some activities included shooting basketballs, building a sand castle, sorting fruits/veggies into color groups etc... TEAM: Jacob, Casey and Samantha reached the finish line first (way to go birthday girl!).

Next we lined the kids in the backyard (youngest to oldest) to give them a chance at 3 whacks at the pinata. After going through 3 rounds of eight kids, it finally broke and 8 little kids ran as fast as they could to collect their candy surprise.
I made another Dora birthday cake. I was very happy with the results of the second attempt at it. I had fun doing it and will probably attempt to create more in the furture.
