Do, do, do, do, do, DORA!

Last week was fun filled week for us. I already shared with you our adventure at the zoo on Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning was a special day for Casey. A local mall was having a kids event and Dora the Explorer was going to perform. I was thrilled to take Casey to this. It was a free event held in the center court of the mall. We arrived 30 mins before show to find out that a BUNCH other mom's had the same idea. The floor in front of the stage was already 50% filled. We found a spot and waited for the show. Casey played with all the Dora stuff she collected around the house before we left (dora doll, books, bath toys, backpack, etc..). The crowd quickly filled in and we were packed in tight. The show began with 2 adult females singing on stage getting the crowd excited. They were good and the songs were fun (but not Dora songs). Fifteen minutes passed by and finally Dora stepped on stage. The kids went nuts, they all stood up. I had to stretch Casey up into the air to see. Dora didn't do much of anything, she sang a song and left the stage. That's it!!!! Casey and I were very disappointed. They did have a meet and greet Dora station setup but the line was stretched throughout the entire mall and it was going take at least an hour to get a photo opportunity with Dora. We didn't do it. I was bummed it didn't turn out the way I had hoped, I guess that's what you get for a free show. Casey kept asking "where is Dora?". I did get some cute photos of Casey all dressed up.

To end our festivities last week, we spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday at our local park for SterlingFest. This is the big carnival that comes to our town every August. We get to go on rides, eat yummy food, enjoy free concerts, drink in the beer tent etc and lots more. I'll post more on that later. Then Sunday we were on our boat all day. I love getting outside and staying busy in the summer.
