Oh Christmas Tree....

We had a fantastic family day last Wednesday. Chris was able to take the day off (he has a few unused vacation days to burn by the end of 2007). He has been working hard and putting in alot of overtime on the weekends so it was much needed break to be with us. We started the morning visiting with Santa. The kids were thrilled to see him this year. They both sat nicely on his lap, gave him high fives, took photos and told him what they would like for Christmas. Santa's response was "I'll see what I can do". You will all have to wait until you recieve our Christmas card to see those photos.

Next we had a delicious lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen, very good gourmet type pizza. We took a 45 minute drive north of the city to a Christmas Tree farm far north of Rochester Hills. In Sterling Heights we have not seen much snow (only a few dustings). Up at the tree farm they had 2-3 inches on the ground and more coming down as we were there. The setting was perfect with snow covered Christmas Tree's and snowflakes falling on us. The kids had a blast running about in the snow making snow angels and helping pick out our tree. Jake would run up to the biggest trees and yell out "This is the perfect tree, let's get this one!". He would also find the littelest tree and sit next to it and say "This is the perfect one!". Casey was very interested when it came time to cut down the tree. She squat up close to Daddy to see the sawing action. Next Jake and Daddy hauled the tree to the car. It was a wonderful day together.
